@BryanCarole, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP ENVY 4520 Paper Tray Won't Pull Out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If the paper tray of your HP ENVY 4520 printer is stuck and won't pull out, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Step 1: Ensure Printer is Turned Off
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer for safety.
Step 2: Check for Obstructions
- Inspect the input tray carefully and check if there's any paper or foreign objects blocking it.
- Remove any visible obstructions that might be causing the tray to jam.
Step 3: Attempt to Free the Tray
- Gently tug the paper tray with both hands. Do not use excessive force.
- Try wiggling the tray slightly as you pull to see if it dislodges.
Step 4: Use a Flat Tool to Help Release the Tray
- If the tray still won't budge, carefully insert a thin, flat tool (such as a ruler or a sheet of sturdy paper) into the side of the tray.
- Move the tool around the edges to help release potential catches or obstructions.
Step 5: Reset the Printer
- While the printer is turned off, unplug the power cord from the outlet if you haven't done so already.
- Wait for 60 seconds before plugging the power cord back into the printer and the outlet.
- Turn on the printer and try to access the tray again.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
