HP ENVY 6458e All-in-One Printer

Hi all! I have a HP Envy 6400e all-in-one printer that paper jams every time I try to print. When the paper jams, it gives an amber light and “E4” message on the printer. I have cleaned all to rollers per HP instructions, I’ve switched the paper, I’ve tried one piece of paper at a time. Ugh. It seems like the left-side rollers aren’t feeding the paper because every time it rip/crinkles the paper on the right side. The printer is out of warranty since May. Does anyone have any advice/suggestion on how to resolve?

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting E4 error, I am glad to assist you.

Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  • NOTE: HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates
