I keep getting this error code and I followed the instructions on the display and the hp website. There's no paper jam or torn pieces in the printer.

Hi @DVTWIN1 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code 0x6100004a on HP Officejet printers usually indicates a hardware issue, often related to the ink system. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
Update Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP official website, locate your printer model, and download the latest firmware update if available.
Check for Obstructions:
- Open the printer cover and check for any obstructions in the print carriage path. Ensure there are no bits of paper or foreign objects that could be blocking the movement of the carriage.
Inspect Ink Cartridges:
- Make sure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and that they are not expired or empty. If necessary, replace any empty or expired cartridges.
Clean Printhead:
- Some printers allow you to clean the printhead using the control panel or through the printer software on your computer. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to clean the printhead.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Disconnect any other cables connected to the printer.
- Wait for about 2-3 minutes.
- Reconnect the power cord and other cables.
- Turn on the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
