Event code: 71.02.4B on HP OfficeJet Pro 8020. Printer not working after paper refill (again!)
Hi all,
Not really sure where the HP support is my printer is telling me to contact.. Hopefully you can help on here.
Since the start (6months ago), when I reload the paper tray the printer has issues printing constantly giving 'cannot load paper' errors or 'load paper' or 'paper jam'. Usually a hard resent at the wall mains power sorts the job.. but this time no!!
I'm wondering if anyone else has had Event code: 71.02.4B on the 8020 OficeJet machine before?
If so please advise because I have a ton of work to get through and this is the last thing I need to be messing around with. Tried virtual agent with no resolve.
I just want to speak to a HP support rep... If anyone has a contact number then please forward.
Thanks

Hi @Craig_P1986,
I'd like to help!
I understand you are receiving an even code -71.02.4B error on the printer.
Please try the below suggestions to resolve the issue-
Let's try a power reset on the printer
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Also, try the steps in the document - 'Out of Paper' Displays, Printer Does Not Pick Paper
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
