- Extended warranty with HP+ is a joke?

Document feeder broke at just past 1 year. HP+ is supposed to come with an additional year warranty - confirmed by tech support. But, for some reason the system [intentionally?] incorrectly shows the warranty as expired. Tech support "not allowed" to remedy the issue even though they have verified my product is still under warranty...Filed a warranty dispute more than 3 weeks ago.
Has anyone been able to get these jokers to honor their warranty?
