Hi. I have а specific problem with my HP laserjet m479fdw. When I'm trying to print on a4 paper but the format of the document is a5 configured in Ms word 2016 it prints one copy(I need more than one) and then writes paper jam, but no jam there... But if I use tray 1 there is no error about paper jam. When I print on a4 document format using a4 paper size there is no problem in this problem tray - everything is good. The best interesting thing that when I set a5 document format not in MS Word document interface but in printer options( I'm setting paper format a5) there is no jam problem also, so it is only appears when I choose format a5 in word's document interface. I've tried to print in such conditions on other HP printer(not the same model) There is no such problem appears.

Most printers ship with tray 1 set to any size and any type which means it  will not typically generate an error if the paper in the printer does not match the print job. However, tray 2 is usually set for a specific type and size of paper and if the setting does not match the print job you will typically get one page to feed and then the error will be generated, in this case because the paper is still in the printer when the printer thinks the paper has already exited. The problem you are having might also be related to differences in the drivers of some printers. What driver do you currently have installed?
