Getting a "DOUBLE" Crease about 2 1/2 inches down on the "COPY" with an "Ink" Line on one of the Creases. If I copy from FEEDER or On the GLASS , It doesn't happen.

@fredstanda, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Double Crease with Ink Line on Printed Copy!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
The issue you are experiencing could be caused by a few factors, including the type and condition of the print media you're using or potential issues with the printhead or rollers. Here are troubleshooting steps that might help:
1. Check and Change the Print Media
- Paper Quality: Ensure you are using the correct type of print media recommended for your printer. Some paper types might not handle the ink well, leading to creasing and ink lines.
- Load Paper Properly: Double-check that the paper is loaded properly in the tray. Misalignment can cause paper jams and creasing.
2. Clean the Print Head and Rollers
- Dust and ink residue on the printhead or rollers can cause lines and creases.
- Follow the printer’s maintenance guide to clean the printhead and rollers. Use a lint-free cloth and appropriate cleaning solution.
3. Inspect the Ink Cartridges
- Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed and not damaged. Improper or damaged ink cartridges can lead to improper ink dispensing and smudges.
4. Adjust Paper Guides
- Check the paper guides in the input tray and adjust them so they touch the paper stack evenly. Misaligned guides can lead to improper paper feed, causing creases.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

@fredstanda, Thanks for getting back — great question!
To clean the rollers (which might be the root cause of those pesky creases and ink smudges), here’s a quick and easy guide:
1. Power Off & Unplug:
First, turn off your printer and unplug it. You’ll want to work with it when it’s cool and quiet.
2. Open Access Doors:
Depending on your printer model, open the rear or front access panel where the rollers are visible. They often look like soft rubber wheels.
3. Use a Lint-Free Cloth:
Dampen a lint-free cloth with a bit of distilled water or isopropyl alcohol (don’t soak it). Gently wipe the rollers while slowly rotating them with your fingers. You might feel some ink residue or paper dust — that's what we want to clear.
4. Let it Dry:
Wait a few minutes for the rollers to dry completely before plugging it back in and powering on.
