Hi @Hatepasswords2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP 4155e DeskJet All-in-One printer isn't feeding paper, there could be several reasons for the issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the problem:
1. Check the Paper Tray and Paper Stack
- Paper Size and Type: Make sure you're using the correct paper size and type recommended for your printer. Some printers may not handle certain types of paper well, such as thicker cardstock or glossy paper.
- Paper Alignment: Ensure that the paper stack is properly aligned in the tray. The paper should be neatly stacked and not exceeding the maximum capacity of the tray.
- Adjust Paper Guides: Make sure the paper guides in the tray are snug against the edges of the paper stack but not too tight, as this can cause jams or feeding issues.
2. Inspect for Obstructions or Jams
- Check for Obstructions: Remove the paper stack and inspect the tray and feeding area for any debris or objects that might be blocking the paper path.
- Clear Paper Jams: If there are any paper jams, carefully remove them. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on clearing jams, as pulling the paper incorrectly can damage the printer.
3. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers
- Access the Rollers: Check the manual for instructions on how to access and clean the paper feed rollers. The rollers can become dirty or worn over time, preventing proper paper feeding.
- Clean with a Damp Cloth: Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to gently clean the rollers. Rotate the rollers manually to ensure you clean the entire surface. Allow the rollers to dry completely before loading paper and attempting to print again.
4. Check the Printer Settings
- Paper Settings: Ensure that the paper size and type settings in your printer driver match the paper loaded in the tray. Mismatched settings can cause feeding issues.
- Printer Firmware and Software: Make sure your printer's firmware and software are up to date. Check the HP website for any updates that might address feeding issues.
5. Perform a Printer Reset
- Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset the printer's internal components.
6. Use HP's Diagnostic Tools
- HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can diagnose and sometimes fix common printer issues, including paper feed problems.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
