@GIGI1004, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds incredibly frustrating to deal with a persistent paper jam error on your HP OfficeJet 6960 when there's clearly no jam.

Please try these steps,

Power Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source and disconnect any USB/network cables.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check All Access Points Thoroughly

  • Open the rear access door, input tray, and cartridge access area.
  • Use a flashlight to inspect for:
    • Tiny scraps of paper
    • Dust or debris
    • Misaligned rollers

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
  • Gently clean the rollers inside the rear access area and input tray.
  • Let them dry completely before turning the printer back on.

Check for Sensor Obstruction

  • False jam errors can be caused by blocked or dirty sensors.
  • Use compressed air to blow out dust from inside the printer, especially near the paper path and rollers.

Update Firmware

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
