@GIGI1004, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds incredibly frustrating to deal with a persistent paper jam error on your HP OfficeJet 6960 when there's clearly no jam.
Please try these steps,
Power Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it from the power source and disconnect any USB/network cables.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
Check All Access Points Thoroughly
- Open the rear access door, input tray, and cartridge access area.
- Use a flashlight to inspect for:
- Tiny scraps of paper
- Dust or debris
- Misaligned rollers
Clean the Paper Feed Rollers
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
- Gently clean the rollers inside the rear access area and input tray.
- Let them dry completely before turning the printer back on.
Check for Sensor Obstruction
- False jam errors can be caused by blocked or dirty sensors.
- Use compressed air to blow out dust from inside the printer, especially near the paper path and rollers.
Update Firmware
- Go to HP Software & Driver Downloads and enter your printer model.
- Download and install the latest firmware and drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
