Looks like a very common problem, seeing many others with same. IOW, poorly designed product. HP posts a set of instructions to fix it, but I've never seen where anyone said they actually worked. I have no doubt there is a way to fix this seemingly trivial problem, if only HP would take a few minutes to figure it out and post an effective solution. Since cleaning all the rollers seems to be ineffective, maybe replacing them is the answer, or maybe some other part needs to be replaced. Since this problem renders the printer useless, perhaps HP should figure this all out, decide what needs to be replaced, and sell it at minimal cost to the apparently many who have experienced it, along with detailed instructions as to how to do the replacement.

Hi @Brad43
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand how frustrating this "No Paper" error on your HP Photosmart 7520 must be,
I'm sorry you're dealing with this—it’s truly aggravating when a basic functionality issue renders a printer useless.
Possible Fixes for HP Photosmart 7520 "No Paper" Error
1. Clean the Paper Pickup Rollers
- Dust buildup on the rubber rollers can prevent paper from feeding properly.
- Use rubbing alcohol or alcohol swabs to clean the rollers.
- You can access them by removing the paper tray and gently wiping the rollers.
2. Check for Loose or Slipping Gears
- Some users have found that a loose gear inside the printer causes the issue.
- If you're comfortable with disassembling, you can check for a slipping gear.
3. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
4. Adjust Paper Settings
- In Printer Preferences, set the paper type to Plain Paper.
- Try using thicker paper or adjusting the paper guides.
I truly hope one of these fixes helps—let me know if you need any further assistance! 🚀
