My previous hp 8630 handled a booklet print job developed with MS Word and destined for 65lb paper quite easily. Had to use only one of the 2 trays which I expect is true for my new printer, the 9135. But it doesn't. I have setup the printer with the correct paper types in the paper trays. When I try to use the heavy paper in the main tray, tray 1, it does the same as someone else reported to you already. The paper prints the first page right at the edge of the page and does not provide (or follow) any margin and then when it tries to do the double side print it jams. When I try this exercise in tray 2 it also jams without even printing anything.
So I assume that I have to use tray 1 but it doesn't come out and doesn't recognize the defined margins. What can you tell me. BTW - this is only about 8 months old so I assume I am on warranty so if you guys want to contact me just let me know

Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check Paper Type Settings
- On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click your printer > Printing Preferences > Set Media Type to Heavyweight or Cardstock.
- On the printer’s screen, go to Setup > Paper Handling and select Heavyweight for Tray 1.
Adjust Paper Tray
- Make sure the paper size matches your document.
- Adjust the blue paper guides so the paper fits snugly.
- Fan the paper stack before loading it.
Fix Margins in Word
- Open your document in MS Word > Go to Layout > Margins > Custom Margins.
- Set margins to at least 0.5 inches to avoid printing at the edge.
Run Printer Maintenance
- On the printer’s screen, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance.
- Select Clean Paper Feed Rollers and Print Quality Diagnostic.
Update Firmware
- Check for updates using the HP Smart app or on the HP Support website.
Test Manual Duplex Printing
- Print one side first, then manually reload the paper for the second side.
- If this works, the auto-duplex function may struggle with 65lb paper.
Try Standard Paper
- Print the same document using regular 20lb (75 gsm) paper to see if it works fine.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
