I have just bought a 150nw laser printer for my business; I have no problem printing normal copy paper but putting card from 160gsm upwards to 210gsm the printer constantly jams and wont print on the material. The literature says the printer can handle 220gsm so what can I be doing wrong?
I am also having real issues launching HP Smart app on OSX - it opens up, then crashes and shuts down as its loading. It's updated to the latest version as is my OS.
Many thanks

Disclaimer: I know squat about laser printers - sometimes I am "spot on" and other times, not-so-much.
Print Media - Paper Size / Type / Weight
You might be referring to the media guide information in the User Guide
Pages 105 > 107
The last comment in this section:
Print media specifications | Page 107
If media weight is over 120 g/m2 (32 lbs bond), load a paper into the tray one by one.
If you have not done so, try loading the paper one sheet at a time.

Worth checking...
The user manual suggests methods to adjust the Printing Preferences / Properties.
Likely useless in the context of using MacOS.
That said, the manual does mention adjusting Paper Size & Type using the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
For example
EWS – Browser – Tray and Paper Management
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management
Do search the User Guide for "paper size" to glean more information about what the printer expects in certain situations.
What?
Yes, I realize you are asking about paper weight - sometimes paper size / type / weight are related in terms of how the print settings are adjusted in the job setup.
What else?
Not sure - perhaps another Expert have something to add.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have tried loading the paper sheet by sheet which does give minimal success but I have wasted around 15 sheets of card stock so far.
I will have a look in the user guide to see if it can shed any light, hopefully someone can help.
I have noticed there is a part on the back of the printer that seems loose - not sure if this could be having an impact
