Hi @Tcuy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Printing on vellum paper with your HP DeskJet 2700 can be a bit tricky because vellum is a special type of translucent paper that requires careful handling. Here are some tips and steps to help you get the best results:

1. Understand Vellum Paper

  • Texture: Vellum paper is typically smooth but can vary in texture. It’s important to know if your vellum is coated or uncoated.
  • Weight: Vellum paper usually comes in various weights. Make sure you’re using a weight that your printer can handle.

2. Prepare Your Printer

  • Check Paper Capacity: Ensure your printer’s paper tray can accommodate the thickness and size of the vellum paper.
  • Avoid Paper Jams: Load only a few sheets at a time to prevent jams. Vellum can be more prone to paper jams compared to regular paper.

3. Set Printer Settings

Windows:

Open Printer Preferences:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your HP DeskJet 2700 and click Manage.
  • Click Printing Preferences.

Select Paper Type:

  • In the Printing Preferences window, look for a Paper/Quality tab.
  • Select Paper Type and choose a setting closest to “Glossy” or “Photo Paper” since vellum is not listed.

Adjust Print Quality:

  • Set the print quality to High for better results on special paper types like vellum.

Save Settings:

  • Click Apply and OK to save your settings.

4. Prepare and Load the Paper

  • Load Paper: Place vellum paper in the input tray. Make sure it’s properly aligned and not wrinkled.
  • Test Print: Print a test page to ensure that the paper feeds correctly and that there are no issues with ink adherence.

5. Handle Vellum Paper Carefully

  • Drying Time: Vellum paper can take longer to dry compared to regular paper. Allow sufficient time for the ink to dry completely to avoid smudging.
  • Avoid Touching: Try to avoid touching the printed areas to prevent smudges and fingerprints.

6. Check for Printer Firmware Updates

  • Update Firmware: Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date. Go to the HP support website to check for any updates and instructions on how to install them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
