True - At some point, someone will have posted pretty much all there is to do about paper size & type selection.
What is left to do??
If you have not done so, Check / Update the printer Firmware
At this writing, firmware update released January 6, 2022
HP DeskJet/Ink Advantage 4100 All-in-One Printer series Firmware Update
You could try a product Reset as explained in the Troubleshooting document - If the printer hardware is "stuck", that might clear the problem.
HP Printers - Printer Turns Off Unexpectedly or Repeatedly
Step 2: Restart the printer
Step 3: Update the Firmware
Honestly, there is a limit to the list of solutions. You could try checking and reloading the paper and then checking EWS to make sure the paper size and type are actually selected.

For those reading
"The way it is supposed to work"
Admittedly, there is "nothing new here"...
Preparation
- Printer must be connected to your network
- Firmware must be current
- If you have had trouble with communication, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet as opposed to using a surge protector or battery backup
- All products using the printer should be on the latest version of HP Smart for that device. Sounds inane, but if one device is using an old, outdated version of the app, other communications can suffer for it.
- Paper - size / type / weight - must be supported by the printer.
- This Printer does not support Borderless (so don't select it if found)
- This Printer requires a larger margin along the bottom edge
The printer lacks a printer display panel that might have been used to interface with the printer.
This simply means that the printer must be on the network and available to use other forms of communication.
This printer includes the "back loader" paper intake tray that extends from the top back edge of the printer.
Load paper into the input tray using the User Guide
Page 10
Right after the paper is loaded / reloaded into the printer intake tray,
Alert the printer to the Paper Size & Type of paper.
Reminder
When using HP Smart Mobile, it is necessary that the paper size & type be selected before the item to be printed is opened in the application.

OK.
Understood.
The printer should be capable of printing on supported A4 paper in a supported paper weight.
If you did not do so, it might be necessary to remove the paper and then reload it into the tray.
Next, check / change the paper size / type noted in Tray and Paper Management.
Already tried? Ignore. Although the paper reload and check in EWS should work, it might not be the source of the problem.
If you did not do so in the software / application you are using to view and submit the job,
If the option to select the Source is offered, Select the Source / tray as opposed to leaving the tray selection "automatic".
Already tried? Ignore.
If you have not done so,
Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software
