HP Envy Photo 7100 All-in-One Printer series
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Envy Photo 7155 printer is displaying the following error: "Remove any jammed paper and make sure the paper tray is installed properly". After careful inspection, there isn't any visible paper jam inside the printer. The paper tray is properly installed. I've followed all recommendations, such as cleaning the paper feed rolls, checking gear teeth, and resetting the printer by removing the power cord for at least 60 secs with the power switch ON. Would appreciate instructions on how to fix this problem.

Hi @kschulz,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

  1. Inspect Hidden Areas

    • Carefully inspect all areas of the printer, including the rear and underneath the print carriage for small bits of paper or debris that may not be easily visible.
  2. Check Paper Feed Rollers

    • Manually rotate the paper feed rollers to ensure they move freely and are not obstructed.
    • If possible, clean these rollers with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.
  3. Perform a Printer Reset

    • Unplug the power cord from the printer and wait at least 60 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.
  4. Reinstall Paper Tray

    • Remove the paper tray from the printer.
    • Inspect the tray for any damage and ensure all gears and moving parts are functioning correctly.
    • Reinsert the paper tray, ensuring it is fit snugly into place.
  5. Update Printer Firmware

  6. Use HP Smart App Diagnostics

    • Use the HP Smart app available on Windows 11 to run diagnostic checks on your printer.
    • This can sometimes detect issues not visible through manual inspection.
  7. Reset the Printer Settings

    • Through the printer’s control panel, access the settings and perform a factory reset.
  8. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

I hope this helps.
