Hi @BlackSwan88,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy Pro 6400 printer is printing blank pages and showing the error message "The document could not be printed," here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Ink Levels
- Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are not empty or low. Replace any cartridges that are out of ink.
- Ink Cartridge Installation: Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly seated.
2. Run Printer Maintenance
- Clean Printheads: Use the printer’s built-in maintenance options to clean the printheads. This can often resolve issues with blank prints.
- Open the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Tools and select Clean Printheads.
3. Check for Paper Jam or Obstructions
- Paper Path: Inspect the paper path for any jams or obstructions that could affect printing.
- Clear Jam: Follow the printer’s manual or the instructions on the printer’s display to clear any paper jams.
4. Verify Printer Settings
- Correct Printer: Ensure that you have selected the correct printer in the print dialog box on your laptop.
- Print Quality: Check the print quality settings. Set them to a higher quality if needed.
5. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers
- Update Drivers: Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for the HP Envy Pro 6400 printer. Install them and see if the issue persists.
- Reinstall Drivers: Uninstall the existing printer drivers from Device Manager, then reinstall the latest drivers.
6. Check Wireless Connection
- Network Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the same wireless network as your laptop.
- Reconfigure Network: If needed, reconnect the printer to the network using the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app.
7. Test with Different Documents
- Different Files: Try printing different documents or files to rule out file-specific issues.
8. Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Printer Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Printer and run the troubleshooter.
9. Check for Firmware Updates
- Update Firmware: Check for firmware updates for the printer on the HP Support website or through the HP Smart app. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause printing issues.
10. Perform a Hard Reset
- Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
