HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer

My HP Envy Pro started paper jams for the last week. It seems to only jam when I print double sided. I did some troubleshooting and it seems that it may be that the lid does not fully close. How do I get the lid to fully close and will that resolve my paper jam issues?

Thanks,

TheGrannyGirl

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this issue. I’ve noticed that when I open the lid to scan a document, the bottom part of the lid that should stay closed pops up with the lid to the scanner. I have to hold the bottom part of the lid down or it all pops open send out orange flashing lights. For some reason the lid does not fully close. And now I’ve noticed the the pages I print are printing crooked and/or of center on the page causing the top 2” of the page to not print. Any suggestions??? HELP!

Hi @TheGrannyGirl,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you are facing a paper jam error and the printer lid does completely close.

Try the below suggestions -

Automatically clear the jam

Paper jams can be real or false. The printer might report a paper jam even when there is no jam.

On the printer control panel, press the Cancel button to automatically clear the paper jam.

Clear jammed paper from the printer

Paper jams can occur in multiple areas of the printer. If you cannot find the paper jam in one area, continue to the next area until the jam is located.

  • Clear jammed paper from the ink cartridge access area
  • Clear jammed paper from the input tray and cleanout area
  • Clear jammed paper from the document feeder (6400 models only)

Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the power source.

Wait 60 seconds.

Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Turn on the printer to complete the reset.
