Hi We have a HP Lasterjet CM6040.

When we print on A4 135gsm Coated gloss laser paper, it just jams in the fuser.

We have replaced fuser etc, changed paper type, but we just can get around this issue.

Standard paper goes through fine??

Any recommednadtions please??

Which tray are you trying to feed from, MP tray may provide better performance on specialized media? Are you adjusting the paper settings from plain to glossy? What is the toner coverage on the pages like, this unit sometimes has trouble with high coverage causing sticking? Is your firmware up to date. Check the secondary transfer roller locks to make sure they are not broken, another common issue with this engine. They are 2 grey locks that hold the 2ndary transfer roller tight against the feed path so paper is feed into the fuser properly. Try feeding a different edge first, for instance if you are feeding long edge first, try feeding short edge first. This will reduce print speed as fuser heats up but may help.

The first thing we check is power. Especially a power hungry unit like this requires a dedicated 15AMP circuit with NOTHING ELSE plugged into it.

This device was my least favorite to repair and I was joyous when it reached end of life. If the above tips do no help, you are likely looking at major time troubleshooting.

We have tried loads of senarios but I will go over some of the tips you have quoted.

Do you have a upgraded model of A3 printer that you would recommend??

Either the E778xx or the E876xx series products have been stellar for our customers. Just avoid the high capacity tray/stand. If you need lots of paper go with the 5000 sheet side feeder.
