Officejet  9025 error paper too short when printing back to back and stops printing.

I have checked firmware, both paper trays, drivers.

This started happening about a week ago.

I am using HP 8.5 X 11 paper. Sensor may be faulty?

@Willynpg, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are encountering the "Paper Too Short" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 when printing double-sided, here are some steps you can follow to resolve this issue:

Check Paper Settings:

  • Ensure that the paper size settings in the printer software match the actual paper size loaded in the trays. You can do this through the printer's control panel or software settings on your computer.

Inspect Paper Type:

  • Verify you are using the correct type of paper supported for duplex printing. Check the printer specifications for compatible paper types and sizes. Ensure there are no bends or creases in the paper that could disrupt printing.

Adjust Paper Guides:

  • Make sure the paper width guides in the input tray are snug against the paper. Paper guides that are too loose or too tight can cause feeding issues.

Reload Paper:

  • Remove the paper stack, fan the sheets to ensure they are separated, and reload them in the tray. Ensure the paper is aligned properly and not exceeding the tray's capacity.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • While you mentioned checking for firmware, ensure you've installed the latest version. Updated firmware can sometimes resolve printing errors.

Clean the Printer:

  • Dust or debris inside the printer can lead to paper feed issues. Clean the input tray and rollers gently with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on. This can refresh the printer system and resolve minor errors.

Test with Different Paper:

  • Try using a different batch or brand of paper to see if the issue persists, as it could be a paper compatibility issue.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
