What paper do I use for printing glossy photos from the 4x6 inch ray? I have tried 250 gram but this jams. Will 150 gram paper work?
The manual that came with the product doesn't stipulate the required weights of paper for either tray.

Hi applevictim
here are the specifications

You can use up to 280g.
But you have to change the printer settings, Change print settings (Windows)
Hope this helps!

I don’t think this answers the problem. There is no way of changing the settings for paper thickness (weight) when you print from an Apple device and if you print a photo from your iPad you can’t even specify which tray is used to feed paper. The iPad software assumes that the photo is to be printed on the smaller photo paper feeder so getting A4 prints from photos is impossible.
what I need to know is what weight (or thickness) should the photo paper be that is used in the 6x4inch tray?

Oh, I forgot to include the link for the Printer Specifications for HP Photosmart 5510 and 6510 in my post. Done with this ...
See paper-handling specifications
>>> paper tray capacities
>>> input tray
>>> photo paper
Up to 280 g/m² (75 lb)
The Mac full feature driver installs HP Utility, which has similar tools and features, HP Printer Assistant .
Kind Regards

The printer assistant for the Mac is simply an app for downloading the latest update driver. The result of using this app is basically a message saying there are no updates for this device. The details page you mention I believe has an error in the spec referring to paper thickness allow and should possibly read 150 grams not 280 but I can’t test this without buying expensive gloss photo paper.
250 gram paper gets caught in the paper take up area at the back of the machine where the paper has to curve through a guide a full 180 degrees. The 250 therefore gets caught in the guide mechanism and I doubt if any control setting (using an iMac, iPad, windows, or anything else) would adjust this issue.
Thanks anyway for your time.
