Hi,
I've had my printer for a number of years and have had no issues until recently - this could possibly be linked to upgrading mac software - I'm now on mac os version 12.6
When I press print I get a message saying "out of paper - load paper into the main tray" - however there is already paper in the main tray. It seems like the printer is no longer picking up the paper to print. If I "force" the paper further into the tray then the printer will print out although alignment to the top of the page etc isn't then correct.
I have tried turning the printer on and off. I've taken out the ink cartridges and put them back in (based on seeing a previous post). On my computer it seems to be referring to error 0x61011bef. I have a lead from the printer to the mac - its not wireless printing
I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how to resolve this. Many thanks
Anna

Hi @Anna45,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I understand that you are getting printing errors. I'd like to help!
Please follow the steps mentioned below.
Check the paper, and then reload it
Check the paper stack for defects such as wrinkled, torn, or bent pieces that might cause a pick-up issue.
Remove any paper from the paper tray.
Remove any severely bent, wrinkled, or torn paper found in the stack.
Check for obstructions inside the paper tray. Make sure nothing blocks the paper from engaging with the rollers.
Make sure the paper stack is even on all sides.
Load the stack of paper into the paper tray.
Close or push in the paper tray.
Select the correct paper size on the printer control panel or in the printer software.
Clean the paper pick rollers
Clean dirt or debris from the paper pick rollers to resolve paper feed issues.
Clean the paper pick rollers (top paper tray)
Clean the paper pick rollers (under the printer)
Clean the paper pick rollers (inside a printer)
Reset the printer
Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.
If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the power source.
Wait 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
NOTE:
HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Turn on the printer to complete the reset.
Service the printer
Service or replace your HP product if the issue persists after completing all the preceding steps.
Go to Contact HP Customer Support to schedule a product repair or replacement. If you are in the Asia Pacific, you will be directed to a local service center in your area.
To confirm your warranty status, go to HP Product Warranty Check. Repair fees might apply for out-of-warranty products.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
