Hi @lp1968,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Officejet 6700 printer is not picking up paper despite the rollers being cleaned and moving freely, there could be several possible causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check paper type and condition: Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of paper recommended for your printer. Also, check if the paper is not damaged, wrinkled, or curled, as this can cause feeding problems.
  • Load paper correctly: Make sure that the paper is loaded properly in the input tray and that the stack is aligned and not overloaded. Adjust the paper guides to fit snugly against the edges of the paper stack.
  • Reset the printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the back, and wait for about 60 seconds. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
  • Check for paper jams: Even if you can't see any paper jams, there might be small shreds of paper stuck inside the printer. Use a flashlight to thoroughly inspect the paper path and remove any obstructions.
  • Reset the printer settings: Resetting the printer to its default settings may help resolve any configuration issues causing the paper feed problem. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to reset the settings.
  • Update printer firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually download firmware updates from the HP support website and install them using the printer's control panel or HP Smart app.
  • Check for hardware issues: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with the printer's paper feed mechanism.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the paper feed issue with your HP Officejet 6700 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
