Have tried everything to clear "the paper jam" but cannot find any paper. The instructions were to "open top cover and release -clearance lever, clear jam. Am not sure what is meant by "clearance lever". Tried disconnecting printer from both the wall and the back of the computer and waiting 60 seconds. Nothing has worked.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that you are getting a paper jam, I am glad to assist you.
Reset the printer
- Sometimes a paper jam error persists even though there is no jammed paper (false paper jam). Resetting the printer might clear the error.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates

Thank you for your response. This is an actual paper jam. I can see and have attempted to remove the paper jam but was unsuccessful. With my request for help i attached a pic of the area showing the jam. The paper is caught in the last segment of its journey out of the machine. Please refer back to the original request for help and view the picture since there is not option here to resend it. Still need help before I start taking it apart.
