Good people, how are you?
I have two identical printers, connected to my domain controller with the official driver provided by the manufacturer. They work very well but after each print, the printer prints out a blank sheet of paper. How can I fix this problem?
Thank you very much in advance.

Hi @Posadas,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue of your HP Smart Tank 7000 series printer ejecting a blank sheet of paper after each print could be due to a few reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this problem.
Check Printer Settings:
Spooling Settings:
- Go to the Control Panel on your computer.
- Select Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on the HP Smart Tank 7000 series printer and choose Printer Properties.
- Under the Advanced tab, ensure that Start printing immediately is selected, and Enable advanced printing features is unchecked. Sometimes enabling advanced features causes extra sheets to be ejected.
Separator Page:
- In the Printer Properties, check if a Separator Page is enabled.
- Go to the Advanced tab, and click on Separator Page. If there is a file associated, remove it or disable this feature.
Driver Update:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed. Sometimes outdated drivers may cause printing issues.
- You can download the latest driver from the HP Support Website.
Print Preferences:
- Open Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on the HP Smart Tank 7000 printer and select Printing Preferences.
- Ensure that no blank pages or banner printing options are enabled in any of the tabs.
Firmware Update:
- Check for any firmware updates for the printer. New firmware versions often fix bugs, including issues with printing blank pages.
Print Job Format:
- Ensure that the documents you are printing don’t contain an extra blank page.
- Check the print preview to confirm there are no unintended blank pages included in the document.
Reset Printer Settings:
- You can try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. To do this:
- Turn the printer off.
- Disconnect it from the power source for about 30 seconds.
- Reconnect and turn it on, then check if the issue persists.

Clear Print Queue:
- Sometimes, the print queue might retain jobs with blank pages.
- Open Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select See what’s printing.
- Clear any pending or stuck print jobs.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, there might be a deeper configuration issue, possibly related to the domain controller setup.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
