@Shirl1230, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Photosmart D110 printer is not grabbing paper, it’s likely due to one of the following common causes: paper feed roller issues, incorrect paper loading, or paper tray obstructions. Let’s walk through the steps to resolve this:
Check the Paper and Reload
- Remove all paper from the input tray.
- Inspect for any wrinkled, curled, or torn sheets and discard them.
- Fan the stack to prevent sheets from sticking together.
- Reload plain, white paper into the tray and ensure it’s aligned properly.
Check for Obstructions
- Use a flashlight to inspect the paper path and tray for any foreign objects or debris.
- Make sure the paper guides are snug but not too tight against the paper stack.
Clean the Paper Pick Rollers
Dust or residue on the rollers can prevent the printer from picking up paper.
Here’s how to clean them:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the paper stack.
- Use a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Gently clean the rollers inside the input tray. Rotate them manually to clean all sides.
- Let them dry for at least 2 minutes before plugging the printer back in.
Print a Self-Test Report
This helps verify if the hardware is functioning:
- On the printer control panel, press the Setup button.
- Navigate to Tools > Print a Test Page.
If the test page prints successfully, the issue may be software-related.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
