HP 4x6 paper is too big for the print tray - seems the print tray needs 10cm by 15cm paper not the slightly larger 4x6 - is this true? I can't widen the print tray any more, have to cut the paper!

Hi @brykwall,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer is designed to handle standard paper sizes, including 4x6 inch photo paper. However, it sounds like you're having trouble with the paper size not fitting properly in the print tray.
Typically, 4x6 inch photo paper should fit into the printer’s photo paper tray, which is usually designed to handle this size. The issue might be due to the paper not being loaded correctly or the paper tray guides not being adjusted properly.
Here’s a quick checklist to help resolve the issue:
- Check the Paper Tray Guides: Ensure the paper tray guides are adjusted to the correct width for 4x6 inch paper. There should be adjustable guides on the paper tray that can be moved to fit the size of the paper.
- Verify Paper Size Settings: Make sure that the paper size settings in your printer software match the size of the paper you’re using. Go to the printer settings on your computer and confirm that 4x6 inch is selected as the paper size.
- Check Paper Type: Make sure you are using paper that is compatible with your printer. For photo printing, the paper should be specifically designed for inkjet printers.
- Avoid Cutting the Paper: Cutting the paper might lead to issues with feeding or printing. Ensure the paper is loaded correctly and fits properly in the tray without any need for modification.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
