Product: HP Smart Tank Plus 551 Wireless All-in-One
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
My HP Smart Tank Plus 551 Wireless All-in-One had a bad paper jam, I pulled it free. But an error code E3 stayed on the print screen and the carriage slams back and forth. If and how must I clean the tracks and what else? My problem did not get solved. I don't know how I must proceed. Is the printer broken? Or is it possible to clean, and continue use, or fix it? Can I order parts? What is it indicating, if the carriage is slamming loudly back and forth, and what does E3 not clearing indicate?Help

Hi @nweems1232,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are facing issues with the Paper jam and E3 error.
- The printhead carriage has stalled.
- Lift the ink access door.
- Make sure the printhead cover is properly closed and the print carriage is not obstructed.
- CAUTION: Do not open the printhead cover.
- Remove any jammed paper or other objects blocking the carriage.
- Close the ink access door.
- Press the Resume button
to continue the print job.
