Hi @Nia77,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer says it's out of paper even though there is paper loaded, this is a common issue and usually related to one of the following:

Troubleshooting Steps:

1. Check the Paper Tray

  • Make sure the paper is aligned properly and not pushed too far in.
  • Use clean, wrinkle-free paper.
  • Avoid mixing different paper types or sizes.

2. Fan and Reload the Paper

  • Remove the paper stack.
  • Fan the edges to prevent sheets from sticking together.
  • Reload the paper and adjust the paper width guides snugly (but not too tight).

3. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the access panel and locate the paper feed rollers.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean them.
  • Let them dry completely before plugging the printer back in.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from the power source for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

5. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Go to HP Support and check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
