I need help on how to fix a paper jam in the printer. My printer is a HP ENVY 7955e. The paper is so tight when I tried to retrieve it, it just tore. I dont want to damage my printer but I also need to get this jammed paper out of it.

Hi @EDTDogTrainKY,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Dealing with a paper jam in a printer can be a bit tricky, but here are some general steps you can follow to clear a paper jam in an HP ENVY 7900 series printer, including the HP ENVY 7955e.
- Turn off the printer: Before attempting to clear the paper jam, turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source. This ensures your safety during the process.
- Access the paper path: Open the printer cover or any panels designed for accessing the paper path. Refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to open these areas.
- Gently remove loose paper: If you can see any loose or partially fed paper, gently remove it from the paper path. Avoid using excessive force to prevent tearing.
- Check for stuck paper: Inspect the paper path thoroughly for any stuck or jammed paper. Look for any small pieces of torn paper that might be lodged in the rollers or other parts of the printer.
- Use a flashlight: If necessary, use a flashlight to get a better view inside the printer. This can help you identify and remove any hidden pieces of paper.
- Remove paper trays: If the jam is not easily accessible, you may need to remove paper trays or other removable parts to get a better view and access to the jammed paper.
- Check the rear access door: Some printers have a rear access door that allows you to easily reach and remove paper jams. Check your printer's manual to see if this applies to your model.
- Rotate the rollers: Manually rotate the rollers in the direction of paper feeding. This can help dislodge any stuck paper.
- Pull out paper carefully: If the paper is stuck and tearing, try to pull it out gently and evenly. If it tears, check for any remaining pieces and remove them.
- Close the printer: After clearing the jam, close all access panels securely.
- Turn on the printer: Reconnect the printer to the power source and turn it on. Test it with a small print job to ensure that the issue is resolved.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
