This is just impossibly complicated for a simple question. Jams on 300 gsm (140 lb) paper stock. No idea of setting since there are no designations for card stock in either the printer settings on the printer, or the settings on the desktop app, and the settings *are not the same*! I don't need a book on the subject, just a straight answer. Do the printer settings take precedence, or does the desktop app take precedence, and which settings on which "app" should I use???? I have an HP 9018 Pro, on Windows 10 (64 bit)

The media you have selected is heavier than this printer is rated for and therefore not supported. Typically you need to have both the printer configured at the control panel for the paper loaded. If the program or driver ask for a paper weight that is not loaded you will get a "please load XXXX media"
