I bought this printer specifically because I know that these print on transparency film (for foiling) but when I go to the bar to change the paper/media there is no option for transparency film. I've tried the different settings and none work. HP Smart just says the printer is out of paper. I only have 1 sheet loaded and it doesn't sound like it's trying to feed or move at all.
Paper options in the drop-down menu:
Bond
Plain 75-89g
Light 65-74g
Heavy 90-120g
Labels
Envelope
Unspecified
Thank you 😄

I see you have a Laser Printer
I would suggest your problem is not the media type in the driver but an optical sensor detecting the paper being present. If it is an optical sensor it shines a beam of light which the paper blocks if it is loaded. If the "paper" is transparent it is going to assume there is no paper loaded. HP can you comment on this please?
However the problem of no Transparency option in the media type list seems to be across the drivers for inkjet too.
HP has removed the option for OHP Transparencies as a media type from the drivers.
Our company has a large format (A3+) Office Jet printer for which I have installed the latest drivers on the PC.
There is no option for Transparency and printing from Corel Draw or Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator to create a transparency master for silk screen creation is failing. Even changing settings to Rich Black (CMYK all 100%) the old favourite trick for getting a dense black makes no difference. The transparency is useless. The black print is still semi transparent. When creating a Silk Screen Master using UV light to etch this results in a failed screen.
The nearest workaround we can find is to change the paper type to Other Photo Paper as the type of media determines the amount of Ink deposited by the printer.
