Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The E4 error on the HP ENVY 6432e usually means a paper jam or carriage issue. Since you've already checked for visible paper jams, here are a few more steps to try before deciding to replace the printer:
1. Reset the Printer (Basic Fix)
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 2-3 minutes to clear any stored errors.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error is gone.
2. Check for Hidden Paper Pieces
Even small bits of paper can trigger this error. Try:
- Removing the paper tray and rear access panel (if applicable).
- Using a flashlight to look inside for small torn pieces.
- Checking inside the printer where the rollers are.
3. Inspect & Reseat the Rollers
- Open the printer and look at the paper feed rollers (the rubber wheels).
- If you suspect the roller is dislodged, try gently pushing it back into place.
- Use a lint-free cloth and a damp paper towel to clean the rollers.
4. Check the Carriage Movement
- Turn off the printer.
- Open the front cover and move the carriage (the part holding ink cartridges) manually from left to right.
- If it's stuck or making strange noises, there might be a hidden obstruction.
5. Run the HP Print & Scan Doctor
- Download it from HP’s official website and run a diagnostic.
6. Factory Reset the Printer
If nothing works, a factory reset might help:
- Turn off the printer.
- Hold the power and cancel (X) button for 10-15 seconds.
- Wait for it to restart.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
