Hi, I am having an issue with my Hp M479fdn- a paper is stuck in tray 1 and it shows error 13.08.14 and says open the back panel to remove paper jam, but the paper is not visible. Can you tell me how to clear the paper jam when the paper is not visible? Thank you for your time!

Based on my extensive history servicing this product I can tell you that if you cannot see a jam then either:

1. The paper is wrapped around the fuser and in this model that is nearly impossible to see without taking the fuser out of the printer. Check youtube for videos on removing the fuser for directions.

2. The exit sensor on the fuser has failed. Tough to diagnose but would be my guess if you do not find a piece of paper wrapped around the fuser. This is a tougher issue as HP does not sell individual optical sensors. You can try harvesting one from another printer but outside that, fuser replacement is your only solution.
