Hi @Saz127,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you’re having trouble closing the carriage access door on your HP LaserJet MFP M234, here are a few steps you can try.
- Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no paper jams or foreign objects inside the printer that could be blocking the door from closing properly.
- Align the Cartridges: Make sure the toner cartridges are properly seated in their slots. Sometimes, if the cartridges are not fully inserted, it can prevent the door from closing.
- Verify the Door Latch: Look at the latch or hook mechanism that holds the door closed. Ensure it's not damaged or misaligned.
- Gently Close the Door: When closing the door, apply even pressure and make sure it's aligned properly with the hinges. Avoid forcing it, as this might cause damage.
- Reset the Printer: Sometimes, turning the printer off and then back on can reset internal mechanisms that might be causing the issue.
If these steps don’t resolve the problem, there could be a mechanical issue with the door or internal components.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
