Printer 6978 All in one, led screen says there is a problem with the printer or print system. Turn the printer Off then on. Well i can't do that, the printer won't turn off with the on/off button. I have to unplug it. The printer is always jamming the paper and now it won't even feed the paper.

Hi @Terry892,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing multiple issues with your HP Printer 6978. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problems.
Paper Jam Issue:
- Check for any paper jams inside the printer. Open all access doors and remove any stuck paper carefully.
- Make sure there are no foreign objects obstructing the paper path.
Printer Won't Turn Off:
- Since the printer isn't responding to the power button, unplugging it is a valid workaround for now.
- Once unplugged, wait for about 30 seconds before plugging it back in. This allows the printer to reset.
Print System Error:
- If the print system error persists, try performing a power reset. Unplug the printer, wait for 60 seconds, and then plug it back in.
- If the issue persists, you might need to perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
Paper Feed Issue:
- Check the paper tray for any misaligned or overloaded paper. Make sure the paper guides are properly adjusted.
- Ensure that the paper type and size settings on the printer match the actual paper in the tray.
Update Firmware/Drivers:
- Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
- Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
