I have a HP 9015e all in one printer.  the error message says I have a paper jam.  when I open the front, I can see a stuck piece of paper but it is really jammed in and I can't figure how to relieve the pressure to free it.  I have tried to pull it out but the paper is tearing and I don't want to get it so that I can't grip it.  The ink trolly is all the way to the left of the printer.

@Iliamna, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

We understand that you're dealing with a pretty tough paper jam in your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e. Let’s work through this carefully so you don’t end up damaging anything or making it worse:

Here’s a Step-by-Step to Safely Clear It:

  1. Turn Off the Printer and Unplug It
(Important! You don’t want any moving parts accidentally shifting while your hands are inside.)
  2. Access from the Back as Well
    • Open the rear access door (or rear duplexer if your model has it).
    • Look inside for any visible jammed paper from the back side. Sometimes you can push or gently pull it backward instead of forward.
  3. Move the Ink Carriage Carefully
    • Normally the carriage (the ink "trolley") moves when you open the front door, but since it's stuck on the left, you can gently try sliding it toward the center if it’s not locked.
    • Do NOT force it hard. Just nudge it if it will move easily.
(Sometimes just a tiny nudge can relieve pressure that's holding the paper.)
  4. Relieve Pressure on the Jammed Paper
    • Use both hands if you can, and pull evenly on both sides of the stuck paper.
    • If the paper tears, use tweezers (preferably blunt-tipped or rubber-coated) to grab the bits.
    • Don't rip hard — try gently wiggling the paper back and forth to work it loose.
  5. Check Deeper
    • Sometimes jammed paper can wrap around rollers deeper inside. After the first big piece is out, check inside with a flashlight.
    • Rotate any exposed rollers manually (if accessible) to check if more scraps are stuck inside.
  6. Final Check
    • Look through all doors and trays — input tray, output tray, duplexer, under carriage — anywhere scraps might be stuck.
  7. Plug Back In and Restart
    • Once everything looks clear, plug the printer back in, power it on, and let it cycle.
    • It should reset the paper jam error if all fragments are gone.

Important:
If you can't reach the jammed paper at all, or it feels absolutely locked in there, stop pulling — too much force can break the carriage mechanism or tear the internal rollers.
In that case, it might need a service, you can visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
