Hi @Lesley333,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

For a paper jam and stuck cartridge carrier in your HP OfficeJet Pro 6960, follow these steps to resolve the issue.

Turn off the printer:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source to ensure safety.

Check for Paper Jam:

  • Open the printer: Lift the top cover to access the cartridge area.
  • Inspect for paper: Carefully check if there is any paper jammed in the cartridge area, and gently remove any stuck paper.
  • Check the paper path: If there is no visible jam, check inside the printer, including the input tray and output areas, for any paper stuck. Remove it carefully.

Check the Cartridge Carrier:

  • Manually move the carrier: If the cartridge carrier is stuck, gently move it by hand to the center of the printer. Be careful not to force it, as this could damage the mechanism.
  • Inspect the carrier: Look for any obstructions, dirt, or foreign objects that may be causing the carrier to get stuck, and remove them.

Check the Paper Tray:

  • Ensure that the paper is properly loaded in the paper tray. Check for any misaligned or overfilled paper that could cause jams when pulled into the printer.

Reassemble and Test:

  • Close the printer cover and plug the printer back in.
  • Power it on and test by printing a page to check if the issue has been resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
