@my7600, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Smart Tank 7600 Series Printer Paper Feed Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Paper feed issues are common and can occur for several reasons. Below are the steps to resolve the issue when your HP Smart Tank 7600 series printer does not pull paper from the input tray or automatic document feeder (ADF).

Tasks to Perform:

1. Check the Paper Quality and Reload

Ensure you're using good quality paper that meets the printer specifications and is not damaged.

Steps:

  • Remove any paper that is bent, wrinkled, or torn.
  • Check for and remove any obstructions inside the input tray.
  • Reload the paper stack evenly in the input tray.
  • Adjust the paper-width guides to fit the edges of the paper.

2. Clean the Paper Rollers

Dust and debris can accumulate on rollers, causing paper feed issues.

Gather These Items:

  • Lint-free cloth or swab
  • Distilled or filtered water

Steps:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  • Remove the input tray and output tray.
  • Locate the gray paper pick rollers.
  • Dampen the swab with distilled water and clean the rollers.
  • Allow the rollers to dry for 10-15 minutes.
  • Reinstate the trays, reconnect the power cord, and turn on the printer.

3. Reset the Printer

Resetting the printer can recover it from errors or failures.

Steps:

  • Turn on the printer, then disconnect the power cord.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds before reconnecting the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
