Hi @Ginny79 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing a paper jam issue with your HP OfficeJet 8022e . Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Dealing with a paper jam in your HP OfficeJet 8022e can indeed be frustrating, but here are some steps you can take to try and clear it:

  • Turn off the printer: Start by turning off the printer to prevent any further damage and to ensure your safety while clearing the jam.
  • Access the jammed paper: Open the printer cover or access door. Most printers have a clear path for removing paper jams. Look for any visible shreds of paper that may be causing the jam.
  • Remove any visible paper: Gently pull out any paper that is stuck in the printer. Be careful not to tear the paper, as this could make the problem worse.
  • Check for foreign objects: Sometimes, small objects like paper clips or bits of torn paper can get lodged in the printer and cause jams. Carefully inspect the printer for any foreign objects and remove them if found.
  • Use a flashlight: If the jam is not immediately visible, use a flashlight to get a better view inside the printer. This can help you locate any small pieces of paper that may be causing the problem.
  • Clear the paper path: Use your fingers or a pair of tweezers to carefully remove any remaining bits of paper from the printer's paper path. Make sure to check all areas of the printer, including the input and output trays, as well as any rollers or gears.
  • Reset the printer: Once you have cleared the jam, close the printer cover or access door and turn the printer back on. This will reset the printer and allow you to resume printing.
