Hi @Alcaraz87,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Wait for about 10 seconds, then turn it back on. This restart can sometimes clear temporary issues with paper size recognition.
Check and Adjust Paper Settings:
- On the printer control panel, go to Menu and then navigate to Paper Handling.
- Select Tray 1 Type or the applicable tray number, and choose the correct paper type.
- Select Tray 1 Size or the applicable tray number, and choose the correct paper size (e.g., Letter, A4).
Remove and Reinsert Paper:
- Remove all paper from the input tray.
- Fan the stack of paper to ensure none of it is stuck together.
- Reinsert the correct size paper (standard paper like Letter or A4), making sure it is loaded properly.
Reset Paper Size in Printer Software:
- On your computer, open the printer software or driver settings.
- Go to Printer Properties and then Advanced Settings.
- Under Paper/Quality or similar tab, select the correct paper size and type.
- Click Apply and OK to save the changes.
Firmware Update:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Firmware updates often address issues related to paper handling and settings.
- Visit the HP Support page, search for your HP 4100 printer model, and download any available updates.
I hope this helps.
