Hello,
I want to add a page border to single word documents, but I can't, only 3 borders are printed.
Have tried all possible page border settings under Office365 without success. 😓
Can someone let me know what settings I need to make to get all 4 page frames printed.
Thanks for further assistance.

Enrique

Update / Edits - Add example - Export to PDF and Print

For those reading:

Bordered content requires that all the data is inside the margins supported by the printer.

If the issue is not due software reload or settings, and the issue is not due to the printer hardware (printer needing Reset, other peculiar failure),

It might be possible to trap and print the content, (including all sides of the border) in PDF format using "Fit" / "Shrink to Fit"

Export the original Word document to PDF format.

Open the PDF and Print.

Example - Adobe Reader DC - Main Menu Options - "Border" document

You are welcome.

I thought it worth a try.

Interesting that it is just the border that fails to print when it is correctly positioned on the page.

"Interesting" does not mean that I know the solution, unfortunately.

If I run across anything useful that is not "hardware failure" related, I'll post back.

Hi,

The minimum bottom margins for the printer are 1.27cm, the bottom 12.7mm are is not printable, please enlarge your bottom margin in word to exceed 12.7mm and then the bottom

margin would print too, you may find the margin settings within the Layout tab of Word.

Including the printer specifications as a reference:

Hello Shlomi,
Have tried all this without success.
When the page is in portrait position, the frame at the bottom is not printed and when the page is in landscape position, the right frame is not printed.
The frame is not printed even if I go to much more than 1.27 cm, the problem persists

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

@Hene42

The issue might be where the border is located in the document.

NOTE:  Ignore this message if the following is not relevant or misses the mark.

The printer cannot print a border -- or any content -- that is outside of the supported print margins.

If the border was added using

Word > File > Print > Page Setup > Border

(then)

The Border might be located closer to the edge of the page (paper) than the printer can print.

For example,

All content, including text, images, tables, headers and footers, and Border must be inside the 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) limitation.

Word allows you to create the margins where ever you wish.

Word lets you place Headers and Footers in a limited location (top / bottom) -- the distance from the edge of the document (paper) can be adjusted.

Word sets Borders using "points"

12.7 mm = 36.135 printer points

The Printer won't print data outside of what it can "see" - in this case, your printer cannot see any data that is closer to the edge than the 12.7 millimeters (1/2 inch).

What does Word Support?

Office Professional 2021 Word supports adding a print Border at a maximum of 31 pts from the edge of the paper.

If that same restriction is true in your version of Word, the "Print Border" option is not supported for your printer.

Printers that support printing within .3 inches of the edge of the paper support a 24 pt. border at the edge of the paper on each side.

What to do?

Set your Print Border option to wrap around the Text instead of measuring from the edge of the paper.

OR

Add a "Shape" with the outline and "no fill" to the document page - make sure the shape boundaries fall inside the margin requirement for the printer.

Hello Dragon-Four,
Thank you for your detailed recommendations.
As mentioned before, I have tried all of them without success.
It must be the printer. I uninstalled the SW and reinstalled it cleanly and that did nothing either.
I can live with the problem and close my inquiry.
