Hi @Sri0409 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The E4 error on an HP DeskJet printer usually indicates a paper jam. Here are steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the E4 error:

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the input tray and inspect for any jammed paper. If you find any, carefully remove it.
  • Check the output tray for any paper jams as well.

Clear Paper Path:

  • Ensure there is no loose paper or foreign objects in the paper path.
  • Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the input tray, and the guides are adjusted to the paper size.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Inspect the carriage path for any obstructions. The carriage is the part that holds the ink cartridges.

Reload Paper:

  • Make sure you are using the correct type and size of paper. Reload the paper into the input tray.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP support website. If so, update the firmware.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
