Hi, I did a head cleaning then alignment . The cleaning passed but the alignment failed. Now my paper is jamming everytime. Any tips on what I can do? I’ve rebooted the printer, I’ve cleaned the roller heads with rubbing alcohol, I’ve looked for obstructions but found none. It seems to pull the paper up but jams before entering the printing area

im stumped

Hi @Rob617,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand that you're facing a paper jam issue!

Try these steps:

Load Paper Correctly

Make sure that the paper is loaded correctly in the input tray:

  1. Remove the stack of paper from the input tray and check for any damaged or curled paper.
  2. Align the edges of the paper by tapping it on a flat surface.
  3. Reload the paper into the input tray, ensuring that it is aligned with the paper guides. The paper guides should not be too tight.

Check for Paper Jams

Inspect the printer thoroughly for any paper jams or small pieces of paper that might cause obstructions.

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  2. Open the access door to the print carriage area and remove any paper stuck inside.
  3. Check the rear door and remove any jammed paper from there as well.
  4. Replace the rear door before turning the printer back on.

Clean the Rollers

Since you've already cleaned the rollers, ensure they are dry and free of any debris.

  1. If you suspect that the rollers are still not clean, use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to clean them again gently.
  2. Allow the rollers to dry completely before reinserting the paper.

Perform a Printer Reset

To ensure that the alignment issue is not caused by a temporary glitch:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for about 10 seconds, then plug the power cord back in.
  3. Turn on the printer and attempt to print again.

Use Quality Paper

Sometimes, paper quality can affect printing performance.

  1. Use paper that is recommended for HP inkjet printers.
  2. Avoid using paper that is too thin, too thick, or has a slick texture.

I hope this helps.
