Laserjet 5200N

Hi!

My HP Laserjet L5200N jams paper whenever I send a printjob comprising 2 or more pages. It seems that the printer doesn't  realize that a first page has already been fed, so it tries to feed another page (far too early), leading to a paperjam.

As a first step for troubleshooting, I emptied Tray1 and inserted the paper in Tray 2 (which I barely use). Paperjams as  well whem sending printjobs to that tray 2.

Could you please advise on who to get the beloved device back into business? Thank you very much in advance.

On many HP printers, as they get older, the buffers on the pickup solenoids break down and get sticky, this causes the solenoids to stay open far too long, resulting in a second piece of paper being picked up before it should. Also another issue is having the tray set for the wrong type of paper so check those settings as well. Pick solenoids are located on the right hand side (facing front) of the printer. If you look on you tube there are many videos on methods to fix the solenoids. All HP solenoids work in the same way so the method for one printer will work with most.

Thank you very much for your answer. Much appreciated!

I couldn't find any images/video for my particular model, but I started to find my way to the solenoids yesterday. I will let you know if it does the trick.
