I am trying to print some labels through the manual feed. It worked fine two days ago. Now anything that goes through the manual feed, regardless of size, comes out blank.
Otherwise printing is working normally. I can still print normal paper from the normal tray, so its not a lack of toner.
I do own this product, HP seems to think my product number is invalid.

Hi @Modusoperandy,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP Color LaserJet MFP M277c6 when using the manual feed for printing labels. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem.
Check the Toner Cartridges
Even though normal printing works fine, it's still a good idea to check the toner cartridges:
- Open the printer's front door.
- Check the toner levels of all cartridges. Look for any low or empty cartridges that might affect print quality.
- If any toner cartridge is low, replace it following the manufacturer's instructions.
Check Label Paper Compatibility
Make sure that the labels you are using are compatible with your printer. Sometimes, labels can cause issues due to their texture, coating, or thickness. Check the label packaging for compatibility with laser printers.
Clean the Manual Feed Slot and Rollers
Dust or debris in the manual feed slot or on the rollers can cause feeding issues and result in blank pages. Here’s how you can clean them:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the manual feed slot cover.
- Gently wipe the rollers with a soft cloth lightly moistened with water. Avoid using alcohol or other solvents as they can damage the rollers.
- Allow the rollers to dry completely before closing the cover and plugging the printer back in.
Reset the Printer
Resetting the printer can sometimes resolve temporary issues:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer.
- Turn on the printer and try printing again.
Update or Reinstall the Printer Drivers
Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can sometimes cause printing issues. Try updating the printer drivers to the latest version from the HP website. Alternatively, you can uninstall the current drivers and reinstall them.
Perform a Printer Self-Test
Performing a self-test can help determine if the issue is with the printer itself or with the connection to your computer:
- Disconnect the printer from your computer.
- Print a self-test page directly from the printer’s control panel (refer to your printer’s manual for instructions).
- Check if the self-test page prints correctly. If it does, the issue might be related to the connection or the computer settings.
By following these steps, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue of labels printing blank from the manual feed on your HP Color LaserJet MFP M277c6 printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
