HP DeskJet 2734e All-in-One Printer

My printer keeps saying out of paper. I have reset it, took paper out and put new in, cleaned it and still nothing. It is barely 5 months old

Hi @JessicaSheckles,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with these kinds of printer issues, especially with a relatively new device like your HP 2700 All-in-One. Here are a few additional steps you can try to resolve the "out of paper" error:

Check Paper Tray and Paper Size: Make sure the paper tray is properly inserted and there’s nothing obstructing it. Also, ensure that you're using the correct paper size setting on the printer that matches the paper in the tray.

Paper Type and Condition: Ensure the paper isn’t damp, wrinkled, or too thick. Some printers have trouble feeding glossy, very thick, or photo paper through the regular tray.

Rollers: Since you mentioned cleaning, ensure you specifically clean the rollers. Dust or paper residue on rollers can prevent them from gripping the paper properly. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water or a roller cleaner.

Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer from the HP website. Firmware updates can resolve unexpected issues like this.

Printer Software: Sometimes, the issue might be with the printer software on your computer. Reinstalling the HP printer software might help.

Sensor Issues: There could be an issue with the paper sensor. Since the printer is only 5 months old, it might still be under warranty.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
