I keep receiving messaje of paper jam but there is no such a problem. Also I checked the tray position and is good.

Any clue?

Hi @AQS1

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That’s frustrating—especially when there’s no actual paper jam! Since your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970/6978 keeps showing an erroneous paper jam message, here are some troubleshooting steps to try:

1. Check for Hidden Paper Fragments

  • Open the paper tray and inspect for small torn pieces of paper.
  • Use a flashlight to check inside the printer’s rollers and paper path.
  • If you find any debris, carefully remove it.

2. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.

3. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Open the rear access panel and locate the paper feed rollers.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean them.
  • Let them dry completely before closing the panel.

4. Perform Printer Maintenance

  • Run the built-in diagnostics via the HP Smart app or printer control panel.
  • Perform a printhead cleaning cycle to clear any internal issues.
  • Try a test print after running diagnostics.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, the problem may be sensor-related, and HP phone support might need to assist further.

Let me know if any of these solutions help! 😊
