I was installing new ink cartridges in my printer's carriage. The colored ones all snapped in nicely, but the black one was tougher to push into place. When I closed the lid and the printer tried to print again, I got an error message saying the carriage was jammed. However, when I open the lid, it's under the edge of the right-hand side and will not move. When I tried to move it, the printer started giving me an error message saying that there had been an improper shutdown and I needed to turn the unit off. I did so, but cannot get it to tell me anything other than one of the cartridges appears to be damaged and that I should replace it. I'm assuming it's the black one, but I cannot reach it due to how it is stuck.

I don't want to throw away a perfectly good printer over something as stupid as a stuck ink carriage. Help!!!
