HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer all of a sudden starting grabbing the paper when the ink cartridge Cradle slides across to print. I have tried everything to see why it is doing this. There is no paper jammed in there. It only jams as it is trying to print. I have taken good care of it and no reason for it to do this. I have read the manual and done all advise and its  still catching on the ink cartridge cradle. I bought it in 10.2020 with a 3 yr Square Trade Printer Protection Plan, which is still good.

Can anyone advise me on what I need to do?

Hi @sksmith27,

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing paper jam issues with your HP printer.

Please follow the steps below to perform a reset on the unit:

1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
3. Wait at least 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
5. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
6. Turn on the printer and try printing.

Oh my goodness, I have tried everything. I had turned off many times, cleaned and changed my ink cartridges and unplugged from the printer but not the wall outlet.  I just never thought about doing that. I just wish I had pictures of the papers that the machine had ate trying to print. I am not sure why it did what it was doing, it has always been a good machine. It just did one day. But now it is working 🤗

Thanks again !!!
