Hi @agofh,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Officejet 7000 Wide Format printer is sometimes failing to print the entire first page, this can be caused by a variety of issues. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can take to potentially resolve the problem:
1. Check Ink Levels
Ensure that your printer has enough ink in all cartridges. Low ink levels can cause incomplete or inconsistent prints.
2. Verify the Paper Type and Size Settings
- Paper Type: Make sure that the paper type set on the printer matches the actual type of paper you are using.
- Paper Size: Check if the paper size setting corresponds to the size of the paper loaded in the printer.
3. Clean the Printhead
A clogged or dirty printhead can result in incomplete printing. Follow these steps to clean the printhead:
- Automatic Cleaning: Use the printer’s control panel to perform an automatic printhead cleaning.
- Manual Cleaning: If the automatic cleaning doesn’t resolve the issue, you might consider manually cleaning the printhead. Refer to the printer’s manual for specific instructions on how to do this safely.
4. Check the Printer Driver Settings
- Print Quality: Sometimes setting the print quality to a higher level can help.
- Paper Handling: Ensure that all settings related to paper handling are correct.
5. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers
Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. HP often release updates to fix bugs and improve performance.
- Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and check for any available updates.
6. Check for Hardware IssuesFeed Rollers: Sometimes issues with the feed rollers can cause paper to not feed correctly, leading to incomplete prints. Cleaning or replacing worn rollers can help.
- Sensor Issues: Faulty sensors can misread paper alignment or size. If you suspect a sensor issue, contacting HP support or a professional printer technician might be necessary.
7. Try a Different Software Application
Sometimes, the issue might be related to a specific software application. Try printing from a different application to see if the problem persists.
8. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug it from the power outlet.
- Wait for about 1 minute.
- Plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear any errors or misconfigurations.
9. Review the Document Settings
Check the settings within the document itself:
- Ensure that the document size matches the paper size and the print settings.
- Look for any formatting issues that might cause the printer to omit parts of the document.
10. Test Print
After making adjustments:
- Try printing a test page from the printer’s control panel.
- Print a different document to see if the issue was specific to a particular file.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
